it shouldn't matter where you purchase something, you'd think, right?

you’d think even living in the states, even if you purchase a canadian made product, you’d be able to get it replaced/repaired living in the states, right?
not according to this.
Because this guy didn’t have his receipt, they won’t fix it, even though the monitor’s under warranty.
but because the monitor’s made in canada, and this guy lives in the states, samsung won’t warranty repair it.
why doesn’t this surprise me?
